The project’s scope includes a 7.54 km long elevated expressway over the current Eastern Ring Road which will also be widened, have new junctions and technical elements, and will be modernized to a total length of 12 km. During the four-year construction period of the project, which is widely known as the “Flyover”, in addition to the eastern regional highway, operations will be carried out simultaneously in the western regional highway of Thessaloniki. 

Basic Characteristics of the Construction Project

• 12 kilometers of project
• 9 uneven nodes
• 4 kilometers of continuous expressway bridge (Flyover)
• 8 new bridges
• 3 new tunnels
• 20,000 total vehicle capacity/hour in both directions
• Modernization and optimization of existing network infrastructure and facilities, as well as targeted interventions in the side road network.
