Balanced Cantilever Bridge over Agras River

Balanced Cantilever Bridge over Agras River

The bridge carries a dual carriageway. The deck comprises three continuous spans of 72.50, 121.00 and 72.50m. The deck section is formed as a variable height box, connected rigidly with the two piers. The deck is supported on elastomeric bearing pads on the abutments. Deck width is 14.75m on the traffic surface and 7.00m at the bottom of the box. Deck height varies between 8.00m over the middle piers and 2.65m at midspan and abutments.

The bridge is constructed using the asymmetric free balanced cantilever method, using auto-adjustable formwork.
