Aircraft Hangar at Athens International Airport

The Hangar compound comprises four separate buildings. Buildings 1, 2 & 3 spring a total GEA of 4,608.00m2, 6,125.00m2 and 7,070.00m2 accordingly, divided over three stories. The structural system comprises steel-concrete composite columns and solid flat slabs. Special steel elements limit punching shear effects at the supports. The roof comprises steel-concrete composite slab.

The fourth building is the main hangar where aircrafts are being inspected and repaired. The total plan is 27,625m2 and the total height is 34m. The roof is supported on reinforced concrete columns and its dimensions are 325.00m x 85.00m. The main roof trusses have two spans of 175.00 & 150.00m respectively and are 12.00m high. The transverse roof trusses span 82.00m and are 8.00m high.
